In gaming history 90% of advancements in technology have all occurred on the PC, before making its way down to consoles. The biggest exception for this is obviously the wii with its motion gaming. Having said so, I think that if 3D can be accomplished successfully on the PC, then sure, the PS3 could do it.
Call of Duty games are always good and always a fun play. Whether or not it beats MW2 is another question. The story, well i wouldnt say that it is better in that department so far but i could be proven wrong. The online however is very very debateable.
