ID is in shambles, the entire ID tech team left in February to go work for Occulus Rift. The studio went from 140 employees to 50 in 2 years.
Microsoft has no vision for the past year the only thing they have done is backtrack on their vision and be reactive to Sony.
Atleast Sony and Nintendo stick to their visions you dont see Nintendo cutting the gamepad or Sony making a PS3 with a dvd drive.

Pioneer was smart and left the tv business end of 2009 i believe, and they had the best plasma tv's with their Kuro line, people didnt care and just bought crappy plasma panel LG tv's, because they were cheaper.

As much as it pains me to say because their TV's are still top of the line, but Sony needs to stop making TV's. The TV industry right now is just a race to the bottom with a very small profit margin. Because of Korean companies like Samsung and LG, who get subsidized by the Korean government.
Sony should focus on imaging,mobile,movies/tv/music ,Playstation,Insurrance and emerging professional markets like agriculture and medical technology/equipment.
Social media has changed a lot. Consumers have become far more informed then you give them credit for, even the casuals. The whole casuals just impulse buy consoles, is a myth.

Nope. PS4 still far more powerful and has better word of mouth. People overestimate brand loyalty just like they did in the UK. If a Titanfall bundle at 399$ couldn't do anything what would a 399$ console without Titanfall or Kinect do? Microsoft should have taken the hit and keep kinect now the console is just a weaker PS4 with HDMI in.

Funny thing they dont even make most their money from the game industry. But from licensing out the cryengine to the military/architecture firms and many more. Most of their studios still haven't launched a game including Free Radical(Crytek UK)
