Your spinning it man, JRPG's have not been doing very well lately. WRPG's have been out doing them time and time again, with popularity, sales, critical acclaim etc.
Maybe you yourself don't think so, but the rest of the market does.
This is the exact reason why I hardly ever buy games on day 1 now. I just wait for everything to be included and Steam to have a 75% off deal.
I'd rather play 2 hours of quality gameplay than 20 of complete nonsense shovelware gameplay...
Dragon Age Origin has an Ultimate Edition. Bioware was developer of both and from them announcing day 1 DLC, you have to know a lot more is coming.
Actually I think he was lucky that he missed out. The people who bought ME3 CE, or even ME3 in general got screwed over. I'll be waiting for the ultimate edition which will include all 10... 15.. maybe even 20 of the future DLC packs.

Not necessarily, when I heard KZ3 was going F2P, Starhawk 2 immediately came to mind as a future F2P title. Sometimes developers can make more profits than they would if they released it as a paid release if they sell DLC and other extra things after the person is already playing it for free.
Just look at APB and other F2P stuff on Steam, I think they are doing very well because of all the premium stuff they sell for pure profit.

Not Bioware, at least not recently (Dragon Age 2). I even think that ME3 is going to be a failure review wise, they just can't find the write person to have non-cliche non-crappy writing.
Also Madden is just as bad as COD, I mean even COD changes more year to year than Madden lol

Oh I'm sure they will, the main reason other game companies don't want modding capability is because it prevents them from releasing BS DLC. Bethesda doesn't really care about this, and that is why they will make a real expansion such as Shivering Isles for Oblivion.
There are even some rumors that Morrowind could be a possible area for Bethesda to recreate in Skyrim.
