The best thing people can do is NOT BUY it. If you don't buy the game because of it then maybe they will get the picture. But the thing is these days there are enough sheep, and dummies out there who just slap down the money that Activision will make tons of money off this, and they will keep adding similar systems to future games. And it's not just them, once other publishers see the extra money they are going to have similar systems, look at these stupid online.vip/season passes....

FYI you are missing a bunch of info, the Media Briefing itself might not be 5 hours long, and I find a 5 hour briefing highly unlikely unless they are going the route Activision went last year with the concert. Form what I've been told is the briefing will be followed by time for those invited to play around the the NGP, so while the invites say 5-10 it might be 5-7 media briefing 7-10 NGP hands on.
Oh and this is coming from someone(myself) who got an invite and is attending.

You don't read, you would have to file a claim similar to what is required to get the free games. So dummy and multiple accounts would not get counted. The amount of money this would cost isn't as much as your math makes it out to be. Plus Sony will still get their cut of the revenue from PS Store purchases made from this money.

True you get your money back, but it's such a hassle. And when I first went through this I only had one CC, and that meant I couldn't charge things till a new card arrived. Again it's not the end of the world but a major hassle.
That FBI story doesn't deal with this current incident. That was from the prior attacks and the FBI investigation was actually on-going from the even early wikileaks related attacks by the group.
Wait till you gotta deal with your CC being used fraudulently, then you'll worry anytime a system is compromised that holds your CC information.

Yeah tell me about it, it sounds generic, you would think the first thing they looked at is personal information. But then again maybe it was breeched and now they are trying to figure out how much information got out. Something tells me we got a few more days of downtime and even then it might only come back up in parts.
I don't see people's issues with the graphics, I think there is a ton going on on-screen and it looks solid. The smoke effects are great, particle stuff is great. And I try not to hold glitches to much against the devs. unless it's stuff the blatantly breaks the game, at least they seem to have a very proactive approach to bugs/glitches.
While I don't disagree the guy deserved being suspended, I don't think the Mods comments were appropriate. There is no reason a Mod should threaten to ban anyone, there was no reason for the Mod to even get into an argument with this guy, I'm surprised Xbox Live mods are even allowed to make comments like that.
Glad to see SOny knows how to integrate social networking and a console, time for MS to overhaul their idea on Facebook and Twitter. I got to sit down with Section 8 at E3 this year, and its good, fairly deep, but too deep to kill Halo. The drops and the way they work is really awesome, but there are just way to many. Its less of the run and gun of Halo, more of the lets plan this out of a RTS but not.
I can see how some might feel that way, but I'm sure the number of people that those games turned onto music and playing real instruments is fairly high. Which only further helps music.
Too bad MANY MANY MANY ISP won't allow you to access the service let alone MANY service providers don't use Mediaroom and have no plans to use Mediaroom. This is going to be as great as ESPN 3 integration, a good majority of people can't even access all the content. This is just Mediaroom 2.0, many many Xbox owners won't ever see this available, this is a major waste of time and money on Microsoft's part.
