Because it's a pretty big change. That being said, it's not exactly ADS, and it's not exactly a bad change. People are thinking of it as like Halo: CE, or Halo 2, or Halo 3 with ADS... when in reality--it's not. You need to play it and feel how good the gameplay is before you make your mind up about it.
There's no way that you could pick it up and think that it's anything but Halo.
Just play it if you get the chance and you'll understand why everyone is praising it.

Now that The Master Chief Collection works for most people, the lobbies in that are usually filled with people using mics. It's really hard to play a competitive game of Halo without communication. But yeah, you're right for the most part—I can hardly ever find people with mics on most of the other games out right now.
