YOU VERMIN!
Thats actually a pretty good list of memorable moments. I would also add the Legion loyalty mission for its insight into the Geth, the reveal of the Human Reaper (that was some freaky stuff) and the fight with Asari Commandos and Matriarch Benezia on Noveria that you could get to fairly early in the game and proceed to get your ass completely kicked!
Where is Megalomania on that list?

Shameless plug I know, but if you knew me you would understand.
Bioware can feel free to gargle my balls. Their chances of selling me anything ever again have completely evaporated.
Oh fuck you Bioware. How about that?
We have seen your comments about making an ending that would get gamers talking. You know what that is? That is a marketing strategy right there. People talking will keep it in the public memory, even if it is in a negative light. So you can capitalise on that infamy down the line when you release some free DLC with the better endings just a week before you release some paid DLC. Get the hype from the new ending, get the sales from other,...
The ending is not so much 'Deus Ex Machina' and is more 'Deus Ex Human Revolution' with its End-O-Tron 2000 that lets you push a button to select your ending.
My problem with the ending is that it lacked a lot of closure for the other characters. What were the rest of the team doing? Where was the epic last battle? ME2 ended in such a fantastic way, it is a shame that ME3 had exactly the same sort of ending as Deus Ex with its different ending buttons!
Also, what was the Normandy doing in the Mass Relay anyway and why did only Joker plus the two team mates I had with me emerge into the sun? How did the team mates even get to the No...
From Ashes is free on the collectors edition. You could say rather than it being a money squeezer for those who got the standard edition, or you could say it is a reward for those who got the special edition.
I hate myself, because I get suckered into buying collectors or special editions all the time, for some extra content and a crappy comic or art book that in no way justifies the extra cost. At least now I can pretend that it is worth it...
So yeah, fanbo...
I thought it appropriate to mention American slavery given the proposed backdrop for the game. It would have been a bit strange if I started banging on about Roman slaves or British expansionism in the context of ACIII (ok British expansionism is relevant, but not really slavery in this context. Or indeed any context).
I suppose it is probably because the issue of slavery is still very relevant in a country that still has such deep divides and social inequalities. And also be...
And Racism. The Americans love racism, what with all the slaves and that. Maybe our new assassin will own a plantation. Or help to found the underground railway. Or something.
I want to see Chinamen selling opium.
Its pretty simple really. ME3 out of the box (pre-owned or otherwise) will be a complete game from start to finish. Anything else just comes down to willingness to pay. Are you willing to pay the extra for a new game so you can have the Prothean? Or pay for it separately?
People give computer games a hard time because with DLC the game universe feels incomplete unless you have played it and are up to speed with what happens or what is revealed. However, they have been doing t...
I think a combination of immersiveness, player investment, regular progression and game length really do put RPGs above the FPS in certain ways.
Also there have been rumblings that gamers are getting tired of the COD franchise, a franchise that has not really evolved since MW2
I think the problem is that games, unlike a lot of other media, have goalposts that are constantly moving, and as such it is very difficult to draw a line in the sand and say 'this is an average game and is pretty typical of the medium'. Todays 'average' game is tomorrows 'poor' game and yesterdays 'excellent' game.
What it would take is for games reviewers to take a stand and say that games, like many other things fall along a normal distribu...
Feudal Japan has been done in a lot of other games and media, but not really in a fully realised sandbox style game.
Actually I cant think of that many games set in ancient Japan. Shogun Total War maybe, and Tenchu Stealth Assassin, but not much else.
I am sure there are others, but its far from the 'Middleastistan' level of market saturation.
Not sure if a future setting would work all that well. The wrist blades are somewhat less ...
I was personally hoping for an ancient Japan setting. Or maybe an occupied WWII Europe (though that might be a waste given how many renderings of occupied France there have been)
I have put some thought into why the Gears story (especially 3) is just so terrible, especially given the effort that goes into a lot of the other aspects of the game, and I suspect it has a lot to do with the movie that is currently in development, as well as the comics, novels, DLC and no doubt future sequels and prequels. They want to force the fans of the games to explore the other media in order to fill in the blanks, all to make more money.
In my opinion, if I am going ...
Definitely, although by those criteria you could apply it to the whole world of media and journalism, gamer or not, professional or not.
