I can imagine that there are extra components you can buy. For instance: the standard base NX will have a docking device that just charges the handheld and can display the games on TV through HDMI. A more advanced docking device will boost the graphics to 1080P on TV and maybe some extra settings.
This way it will be cheap to get people on board.
I'd like (almost) all my devices to be dedicated. I hate it that every device these days is a multi-media device.
Just give all the power to gaming and a nice clean and clear OS. I do hope the docking device will provide some additional power for tv gaming though.

Yeah we'll have to wait and see. Maybe they'll move away a bit more from AAA console gaming (aside from their usual Nintendo AAA games) and more towards (3)DS and indie type games. Games that are less expensive to make but bring in huge piles of cash (and are a great deal of fun for the people who have played them).
Let Sony and Microsoft fight the expensive and stressful consolewar.

Not just the power of the handheld.
You don't need 1080P on a handheld.
But it will not be as powerful as neo or scorpio.
The WiiU userbase IS the core Nintendo crowd, since nobody else bought it.
