Seems a one console world would only work for MS fans, with paid online and now the One it seems they're already used to getting the shaft, which is exactly what a one option future would be.

Well as mine is on every day as either a game console, DVD or blu-ray player, media streamer, vod player or CD player then yeah I guess you could call it overused. Still going strong 7 years later though with my original controller and cheaply replaced 750GB hdd.
A catch all system isn't a new idea, MS could do it very well but I hope their main focus remains games, even though I won't be buying one.

Some of these suggestions are totally impractical; scanning all video reviews for unsuitable content? Playing each game in detail to give parents feedback instead of using ERSB detail? These things would take a huge amount of resources away from more important areas, such as studios.
Some other points, like the recent discounts however, would be very welcome.
If they truly believe that digital is the future (something they started saying once HD-DVD died)then why do they have a Blu-Ray drive in the one?
If digital is good enough for games then why not movies? It's because they're hedging their bets. If you believe it that strongly then have the conviction to follow through, make all content download/cloud only, don't have two options.
