Ezio kills with stealth. He has little armor and hidden blades.
Everyone in Soul Calibur has these huge-ass weapons that would cripple Ezio in a single blow.
I think they could have included a better pick, but what do you expect when the last game had Jedi?

It doesn't matter whether or not Catwoman is a huge part of the story or not. It is still singleplayer content that was marketed as such.

You're forgetting that Capcom characters are much weaker than their Marvel counterparts. Only a small few from Capcom could actually compete.
There isn't much special about the game. It's just a compilation of shoot things, and look pretty.
Other than nice animation and spectacular A.I., the game doesn't have much going for it.
Great work on the technical side, but they may need some new game designers.

Personally, I enjoyed the weather effects in GT5. I'd be disgruntled too, if I was looking forward to Forza and it had no day/night or weather cycle.
