I dont think it matters, GTA V could potentially reach 3 billion dollars, but it just can't compare to movies' multiple streams of revenues. Avatar for example, sold 20 million dvd/blu rays in 20 days, thats 6 hundred million dollars in 3 weeks, and i'm just talking about the initial dvd release, not those 3D and Director's cut re-releases. And then we got the books the toys and everything, Avatar easily doubled if not tripled GTA V's sale record.

Can this guy do math? He even stated himself that Avatar made 2.7 billion, that's box office only, not counting syndication broadcast movie renting and merchandize revenues.

The thing is, once PS4 starting showing signs they are outselling the x1(which no doubt will happen), MS will react immediately by cutting prices, the ps4's price advantage wont last very long.
Arent that what they've been doing all these years? Remember a few years back when Microsoft had all those amazing titles like Age of Empire, Rise of Nations, Age of Mythology, Freelancer, Zootycoon? They basically laid off all of their talent and continues spew out piece of shit like Halo or Gears games. I think it's pretty clear they DO stay away from PC as far as possible.
This means Video games is still not as well developed media as other media such like films or literature. We have accepted B-movies and exploitation movies since the 70s, but gaming still have to deal this kind of bullshit article today. Is this DC game a shallow sexploitation game who sells sex as the shocking value? Yes. So what? Other media did this decades ago, deal with it.

Gamestop rips off both customers and publishers, hopefully in 10 to 15 years digital download will be strong enough to eliminate this kind of middleman in gaming business and establish a direct transaction between customers and publishers.
