The Nintendo Gamecube sold like hotcakes (like the Wii), then lowered in price (like the Wii just did). People stopped buying them, and here we are again. Nintendo can't keep their sales up because the PS3 and 360 offer much more for a reasonable (and not much higher) price. One that appeals to Nintendo Wii owners because they paid about the same price for all of their games, peripherals, etc.
Case and point: Nintendo should stick to making handhelds.
I think $350 for a 250GB PS3 Slim and a game is about right. Hard drives are very cheap nowadays.

I believe the majority of people who have wanted a PS3 only got one now because of the price cut (plus it doesn't look too bad either). It doesn't do too bad at appealing to other non-PS3 gamers (specifically Wii gamers).
