Alpha blending, aa and part of hdr lighting in 360 are done on edram logic (on ps3 this is done on rsx or cell), in ps3 this operations are using system memory as buffer, which uses lots of BW (50% or so), on 360 this is not the case as it have 10 megs of edram and ultra fast BW (256), which means that system memory and 22.4 GB/s BW in 360 is not used for that tasks. Edram logic in 360 is like separate graphic core with its own memory.

This chart omitted extra 32 GB/s bandwidth from gpu to edram memory for xbox 360.
