The voting system is not a personal compass.
Why would I care for the approval/disapproval of what I already believe in?
The game is a 6/10 and that's that.
I'm here coz journalists are using their loudspeakers to sell games for companies.
This is my tiny speaker.
Are you talking about IGN or Eurogamer?
I don't hate the combat but it's one of those things I would never use to sell the game to a friend so it surprises me that an article exists about it.
Articles about hair, sure.
Combat?? hmm??
Probably amazing if it's your first video game ever.
Which is a good thing because every sane person would pick up on the pattern and that would end this sales pitch/advertising driven gaming journalism.
Veilguard has single handedly exposed the truths about gaming journalism.
Facts are not allowed in this discourse
Bioware is neither dead nor is it back.
It's exactly where it was....dying.
History won't be referencing this game for anything positive ever.
''Dragon Age: The Veilguard' Is Bioware's Best Game in Ages''
Yet one of their worst games they have ever made.
Along with being one of the most surface level generic video game of our time.
LOL the headline changed....
''It’s great to see the Steam numbers breaking records for an EA single player title'
''..for an EA single player title ''
ahh no damage control here to see
Good games have and can create space for expansions.
It does not end there either.
If the game was not well received but had potential and if the expansion itself is amazing in every way, it could still bring back gamers because it can be treated and seen as a separate game in many ways or even a comeback because the expansion would be judged on its own merits.
-Phantom Liberty- expansion with a proper comeback for the base game as well...
Witcher 3: Blood & Wine exists
Forgot to add Veilguard Mobile

'' It sits one spot ahead of Baldur's Gate 3,''
A 1 yr old game vs launch game on launch day?

Also you mean their first actual launch on steam?
IGN, all your game sites already gave it 11/10
You can slow down the shilling.
Simply because the game is not a 10 or a 9 like a bunch of the early reviews claimed to be.
Starfield all over again
Someone should block and chain their decision maker before they go bankrupt.
Helldivers 2 was massively successful
Good games if not crippled by bad placement/marketing generally do well
It's the execution of it.
Monsters can look like straight out of an Aliens film or Ghostbusters.
Here they went for the latter
Drama can pull at the darker threads or just surface good vs evil.
Also did you notice there's barely any blood.
That is again distancing from reality.
In simple terms, the visceral is lacking.
