I haven't seen or played TimeSplitters before. And i can understand the art/graphic style of Sunset Overdrive. But... like you said, its just too cartoony. I feel they went overboard with it. Even Knack, graphically, looks good for what it is. I can't say the same for SO... yet.

iirc, both The Order and Quantum Break were in-game trailers. If it was CGI, then i think it would've looked more like the Watchdogs E3 trailer. I could be wrong though.
Imo KZ, Second Son and The Order all looked better than DR3 and probably better than (as i haven't seen much of it to give a full judgement) Quantum Break.
I actually like FFXV more because of its real-time battle system. I do like turn-based battle systems as well, but... i just prefer having total control over the character in the battle (like KH) rather than issuing commands to the party. Just my preference.
We really haven't seen much of the game to criticize its graphics though. It could end up looking like the February trailer did, for all we know. Anyway... nothing beats Sunset Overdrive when it comes to graphics. That game was perfectly sculpted to define what "next-gen graphics" will look like.

The free version isn't the full game. You have to actually buy the game to get all the content. And you never know, this game could turn out better than both of those games. Though, this game is quite different from Forza and GT. So it might not be what you're looking for in a car game.
