Could very well be, to be honest I see the future where we are playing god of war 59 and halo 102, not a nice idea really. As the industry gets increasingly cash orientated expect less and less inovation and more safe bets i.e sequels of sequels etc and remasters, and battle royale implemented into just about every game imaginable which is pretty much happening already.
everyone in my household has enjoyed it so far, but we are not quite at the stage yet to see just how lacking it may be in content, and im not disputing it could be lackiing in content, but the base game is solid and very enjoyable, i hope further down the line there is a lot of dlc and updates to make the game reach its full potential.
I was originally a console gamer right up til the end of the 360 and ps3 era, then I moved to pc and to be honest I find it hard to get back into console gaming, I mean sure I own a ps4 and xbox one but the pc just seems to keep me on the hook and I feel I control my gaming, rather than being spoon fed microsofts or sonys version of gaming, While I would say pc is the better gaming platform I dont subscribe the elitism mindset, we all like what we like and are entitled to do so.
Hopefully whatever the game is lacking can be rectified with dlc and future updates, as the idea behind the game is solid enough.
I dont know whats worse sea of thieves being mediocre or the amount of people on here who seem to devote their time
to smothering the front page of n4g with as many negative reviews and comments of the game as possible, its achieving nothing at the end of the day as they are just consoles and games. Some people take this stuff too seriously.
Currently into my second day of playing and I have totally engrossed by it, me and my mates are having a blast with it, and in a way its refreshing to play something a bit different. Very happy with my purchase.
They need games that showcase what that xbox x can do, saying that though I dont want to be seeing more Halo's more Gears, or Forza's new fresh games are needed.
definitely Microsofts time to shine, now they got xbox x hardware there should be some really stunning games to show.

I think in the future most things will be handled server side, in the future you probably wont even need a powerful console, just a set top box of some description will suffice instead.
Switch is stomping all over ps4 and xbox at the moment that is true. the 2 biggest pieces of hardware right now
are the xbox x and the switch, that is what everyone is talking about, so sony need to do something to make themselves relevant in the hardware game because the pro just didnt deliver and became a bit of a non factor really.

I think its common knowledge that the xbox x is on a par to a medium spec pc, and I think its biggest downfall is that dreadful jaguar cpu they keep using but at the end of the day it still offers a lot of bang for buck and I dont think you would be able to assemble a full pc capable of the level of gaming the xbox box provides on a similar price point so its still a worthy purchase imo.
I think after christmas i will get a xbox x and a switch , that should pretty much cover all my gaming needs along side my pc...its a good time to be a gamer for sure.
unfortunately since the xbox x released it does make the ps4 pro look like a joke console, perhaps they would be better just cancelling its production and focus on the og ps4 and the up coming ps5.
Looking good ! I havnt played this series since number 3 but I will probably pick this one up as its looking good.
