why was it on hold while FF XIII and Type-0 were in making?
I don't know you might be right, but maybe there's teams for FF franchise and SE's other franchises and now when FF XIV needs to be reebooted they'll put it on hold once again.

yep, it just recently got 100% development.
and I read somewhere that Nomura did a checking on the game's world and dungeons and he said that he's happy how everything looks. still, the game will probably took year, two or even more to be completed.
i'm really curious how much in % it is done. :(

looks great and everything, but since there are tons of characters -how are cutscenes and story gonna work? how will character development turn out? is there even a main protagonist?
I just don't like the feel of the game if you know what I mean. That feel which FF VII, VIII, IX and X gave me.
X-2 looks cheesy as fuck and has lame characters, Versus on the other hand looks amazing. It has cool characters, serious and darker story, KH combat system, old FF world map etc. Why the hell are they not focusing on it!!??
Daxter is lovable, I couldn't imagine Jak without Daxter. It'd be boring because Jak has typical "hero" attitude.

yeah, I cant believe how over looked JC2 is. it basically has the best open world features ever. you can cause explosions everywhere and its not boring when you do all the missions like in GTA games. grappling hook and parachute combo is one of the best things ever!
yeah, i miss that too but they'll give us 100% sandbox mountain where you can jump and grind everywhere you see and the gameplay is whats most important, it seems like they're on the right way in that department.
