To be fair for this year at least there will be a lot of people who won't buy a next gen console this year, whether it is due to cost, no interest etc.
I do agree that it has been milked a lot since Assassin's Creed 2, but why not? It sells well, is one of the/"the" big product, and they are mostly well made.
I would think that next year could be when it is just for the next gen consoles, probably will depend on statistics to be honest.

Totally agree. It's interesting that Sony has all the buzz with rumours and the 20th reveal. Just makes me think will Microsoft just sit there or try to ninja their way in with an announcement around the same time.
To be fair there has been a new major Assassin's Creed game every year since AC2 in 2009.
