it would be great if either naughty dog or insomniac will be involved, but highly unlikely. 2k/naughty dog/insomniac are 3 respectable developers and i just dont see either of them working on each others' games

so we have 3 publications that is running the SAME review, this is not right. all three publications' review is based on one guys' assessment of his expectations and his view of the game. Honestly i am worried now. in another thread I said that in my view not only did they, Konami, put restrictions of what the reviewers could and could not say..... but as things look now they also hand picket the reviewers. before im going to pay money for MGS I need to see a review from a non-fan of MGS I am...
it seems as if konami also had a list of attributes that reviewers has to have... all of the reviews i read so far, was written by huge mgs fans. that is fine, but that in my opinion is also currupting the scores. every reviewer it seems to me are trying to be too philosophical in their reviews. I agree. its stupid in anycase to let reviewers loose on review code that is not final! it is their jobs to find fault! simple things can creep up that they(devs) didnt expect.
because this is an ugly battle the publishers must find a way to get the advantage back to them because the games' "life" depends on a reviewer, and if that reviewer does have alt. motives, we are heading for trouble. I still feel all gamers must make up their own minds, look at reviews, but the dissision is still yours'. is propably more credable than this site..... but JUST,JUST more. AGAIN all this is old terratory... some reviewers will prefer one game over the other and one system over the other but the power still lies with the gamers. only you can choose to buy the game or not!
I am still waiting for that price cut. I think ms is playing this correctly. they are still selling 360s at a reasonable rate so there isnt a need to cut the price, and while they are holding the price cut for the future you still know that it is performing strong and they are making money. dead I DONT THINK so. slowing down... yes, but IT WILL PICK UP. game devs actually loose more money. lets say you get this little guy that only buys one game mag, and this guy believes evething he reads in this mag.... he will not buy a game with a bad review. I am hammering on this point, but game mags/sites make their money on other guys' products(that they(devs) most propably sweat blood for). Game reviews has too much power!
The games industry is HUGE and there always will be tactics from both MS and SONY that will be suspect, the SAD thing is, the way it works is that reviews has the ability to actually break the momentum of a game sell rate. devs work hard and a review site shoots the game down because the reviewer doesnt like brand/game type/length of FMVs'. its silly there WILL be people that WILL like that type of game. For me is is unfair towards the game devs, and that might be why game daevs has to resort...
in another post i said that the whole game industry is currupt. publishers pulls stunts like these, sites/mags get kickbacks for writing stellar reviews. And this happens in the 360 camp aswell as the ps3 camp. Dewds I think we turned a corner in this industry that we should, like TheWood said, trust our own instincs. If you like a game... buy it, support the publishers to make the game even better the next time (im talking in general about all games).

can we really trust? Official xbox and ps3 mags/sites will allways give a game a higher score, and allot of reviewers WILL have a system that he/she prefers. It is all about money. that is true. If you like a game and the game does look cool... buy it and enjoy it. I bought a game that didnt get high reviews and alot of my mates thought i was a wuss, but Naruto: rise of a ninja was a lot of fun for me. Guys, if you like a game.... buy it. There is nothing wrong with checking out reviews, but those are just other peoples opinions. BUT..... Just dont buy a game that gets 20% from all reviews that you managed to get your hands on.
