Anyone who seriously believes Rich is an idiot. He was most likely doing this just for more views & hits.
Sony had never intended to have DRM at all.
"Who doubted this?"
The Xbox drone idiots who can't read & automatically assume that the update is for playing games.
"What company would release a system that required you to download a patch to play it day one???"
Apparently Microsoft.
I agree, plus they're also worrying about the internet (see CISPA) more so than much more important things that you mentioned above.
This country's government is so ass-backwards it's not even funny.
Do publishers/developers even realize that they're asking for tons of more piracy & possibly another gaming crash down the road by going through with this?
Remember when they tried that garbage in Japan by banning the used game market? Gamers there erupted. So much so that their Government had to wind up lifting the ban there.
If it happened there, the same thing will happen here. The used gaming market is a lot more popular to people than they think....
I know that the PS brand has a huge library of games, but there's only so much that they could do on a handheld when it comes to graphics & power, & you would want to keep the battery life & the price reasonable.
@punisher99:
Don't get me wrong, I like better graphics, as well as high quality products, but I'm being very concerned on how will they handle this product. I just don't want to have an extremely low battery life like bef...
If true, then Sony hasn't learned a thing on why Nintendo have whipped their behinds before with the DS (& they will again with the 3DS, especially when it'll have about a year head start).
They just need to stop trying to 1up their competitors in the graphics &/or power in hardware & focus on trying to get great games made for the thing at a reasonable price tag, to try to fix the piracy & to have good battery life.
Man, most of you guys post some really STUPID garbage. The 360 STILL has games in 720p, ESPECIALLY newer ones like Assassin's Creed 2 & Bayonetta. The 360 is NOWHERE near maxed out, & there is no such stupid requirement as having all games in 720p, especially considering that there were already some games in Sub-HD to begin with when the 360 first launched.
To posters like Shadow Flare, there are really more Sub-HD games on the PS3 than there are on the 360, if you go by ...
Wrong, wrong, wrong. Why? After the press conference in February. Shuhei Yoshida (President of Sony) said Sony will SUPPORT used games from the beginning.
Just look at this video UPLOADED 8 MONTHS AGO which proves it:
