It's one of those games that's showing a huge difference between ''journalists'' ; scores and user scores. Last game that had the same impact was death stranding. Youtubers and facebook users seem to be leaning more towards the ''users'' scores and experience. Basically the majority outside of this website didn't like both games. i am certain some people have forced themselves to like both games on this website just cause they are Sony console exclus...

Pre-ordered it when it was 20 bucks off, got it, finished it, and hated every second of it. The game is trash, and that's coming from a sony/kojima fanboy, i'll take those 10 dollars now thank you very much.

Played the game and finished it, i hated every second i spent with it, words cannot describe how freaking horrible it is. But it's not a 4, a solid 6 maybe.
I was in the same position, pushed myself to finish it out of frustration. It actually dosen't get better after chapter 3, the moment you hit the mountain it gets worse.
Also the whole junker/artist mission scenes hands down win the cringe oscars
The problem is that the gameplay for me was so bad it detached me from the story, i wanted to love it, but i ended up hating both the gameplay and the story.
If there's any series that's deserving of a comeback it's lok. It needs to be remastered and re-released as all the blood omens and soul reavers.
The series had everything; gameplay, story, music, it was as perfect as video games get. And now that Amy is free again she should really be hired for a sequel to defiance.
Something about Kojima feels off since MGS5. I really hope his next game can do what MGS1 did for its time

Manage your time, an hour or two of play after work, and 4 on the weekend.
Now, the gameplay itself is an absolute and utter piece of sh*t, can't remember the last time a game frustrated me that much, i fu*king hate it. But on the other hand, the game world is absolutely stunning, the imagination that was poured into the story and lore is second to none. That's why i'm just storming through the missions to get to the good story parts.
So basically we wait all these years for hl3 and chances are this is goin to be a spinoff vr exclusive, that means hypothetically we'll wait the same amount of years for a proper sequel.... godamnit

I really hope we focus on the LGBTQWERTY stuff more than actual game mechanics/story moving forward
