Ummm, no ffx2 is NOT about Yuna finding happiness in a place she saved, it's about yuna looking for tidus, and yes by bringin tidus back it defeats the whole narrative of " sacrifice".
To sacrifice oneself for the survival of others is a nobel cause and that's wherr it ended, even yuna was willing to do so, now if you bring him back to life... then you undermine all that
By your logic every rpg has to have the same story, the same ending, the same twist. That's why i didn't co pare it to other masterpieces, just because one game did something and screwed up dosen't mean every other game has to.

The story is bad, it evolves around yuna and the vision she saw of tidus, which means it's linked to the masterpiece that is FFX.
XX2 basically threw away that ending for a happy ever after one which undermined the whole narrative of tidus being a dream.
Square simply wanted to cash in on FFX success and try something different with the job system, thus X2 was created.
I'm indifferent about happy yuna and girl squad go go power...
