Sony are the suppliers to Game and Sony could easily stamp this tactic out... btw: Sony for the Players...

Devs: heres the deal Sony (and it appears some of its players) dont want cross-play with competing consoles, simple solution strip cross-play (including Android/iOS/PC etc.) from any game you release on the Sony platform... for all other systems include cross-play as standard on every game you release... job done...
wouldnt touch this crowdfunding with a telescopic bargepole... with Indiegogo the dev/company who the funding is for gets the cash no matter what, they can cancel the project with nothing to show and the people that funded their cash get nothing not even their pledge back... at least kickstarter has a few bits of protection in place... Atari appear to have not much than an idea (with blueprints) for a console and moulded box to put it in...
Sony (and possibly other manufacturers) get money whenever someone dowloads an update file, they get a cut of sale for anything sold on or through the PSN... just think of the interest they earn with all gamers money sat in there wallets on PSN not being used... its all a nice little earner, money for nothing...
with the next XBox capable of Backward compatibility, and Cross-Play with nearly all other systems... and with even more power and graphics capability than the last version... someone will be either joining in or just playing catch-up (just playing those exclusives on you own wont be fun for long)...
really do see how its taking console sales away from Sony (or whoever has the best selling console at the time)... if someone buys a particular brand that would not change...
and that reason was?
do you actually know the reason why MS rejected cross play last gen, are you just assuming, or do you have inside knowledge or just a crystal ball?
So Sony have the best selling console system on planet... why would cross system play with MS change that? I dont see the logic... if people already love Sony why would anything change if cross play was available so you could play your mates on Xbox... I dont see why Sony would panic unless there console and its network is not as good, and it would show its flaws...
anyway... the account shouldnt be locked to the one system... bad Sony, go sit on the naughty step...

many Parents and Grand Parents know full well how the rating system works, its the similar system used on movies... they know full well what an 18 cert. game is and who its suitable for... but just dont give a monkeys...
