This gen, next gen WTF. Wii was way underpowered compared to Ps3 and 360, but it was the same gen, likewise Wii U , Ps4 and Nextbox will be same gen.

Your point is valid but what of Sony decision on Vita and memory card pricing, it's way overpriced and being thrashed by 3ds, smartphones and tablets but their exec's are not recognizing it and Microsoft, well they have said themselves that gaming income has been a letdown for them,why? cos third parties have benefitted most out of the 360.

Remote play is not a system seller but off tv is. The mass will stick to mobiles and tablets for on the go play. I hope to enjoy the likes of the next gran turismo off tv as well as on. Wii u off tv is awesome.
I will judge a console purely on it's games. Don't give a crap about its extra features or apps, there's other tech for that if needed.
I think call of duty will get a better score from IGN. Simply cos CoD has far too much of a hold on the gaming press. Receiving favours from publishers has always been there, if you get my meaning.

Pocketgamer reviews are pocketsized. This guy probably had a play on it at a media briefing for a few minutes and based his opinions on that. He's probably right though.
Cos core gamers were around way before casuals took it up, thats why it sold out so far and Im sure loads didnt know about the Wii until it was released either.
Touchscreen gaming is a gimmick as a whole but Wii U gives you options not available anywhere else before. Local multiplayer is a plus point cos its online capable aswell and its not a dying art, sales numbers of mario kart, NSMB wii, just dance on top of the Wii itself proves its not dead. CoD, AC, Zombi amongst others gives core gaming options from the start and not even mentioned in the article. Its only local multiplayer is it?
Was waiting for this but after trying the demo I'm dissapointed. The ball physics seem much better on pinball arcade.
Forza v GT
Graphics pretty much equal, gt5 city based tracks possibly have the edge. Car selection, Forza is much better. Gameplay and handling, gt5 IMO is quite a bit better and probably the reason for longer dev time. Forza while it's a good rival, I think Gt5 is clearly a better drive.
Well I'm on my second ps3 due to ylod on my phat ps3 so I guess it's based on luck, or is it? Still not convinced either way but my ps3 ylod happened straight after a firmware update.
Yeah shipped and sold are 2 different things. Retailers were selling the title for half price after just 4 weeks. Compared to SF 4 this has flopped. The game is too mish mash to be honest. Supers and ultras are fine but gem system, tagging, losing when only 1 character dies, all these really do limit the appeal for a wider audience.
We know which publishers want to charge more. You only have to look at vita store to find EA and Capcom and surprisingly Sega charging rrp. The thing is the internet allows us to get games cheaper and consumers who are tech savvy and want digital also know they can get physical copies cheaper. kudos to Sony for offering digital cheaper, Nintendo are charging full price cos they know their games are gonna sell well full stop.
The staff are pretty much forced to say such things by the management and head office, so you cant blame all of them
Thing is kid icarus would play much better on vita simply cos of twin sticks. Mario kart and 3d land would look amazing on 5inch oled. Fact is nintendo library is a cut above but the vita is the far better hardware. A mix of both would be handheld perfection.
Nintendo have lost third party support. Do they care, I dont think so.
Their own software sells millions and in a years time, I still think Ps4 and Xbone will be playing catch up to wii u.
The Ps3 and 360 will still be the best sellers throughout 2014 though.
