i dont think so, I've waiting for the ps3 for years, and many people i know are too. Infact besides one or two wannabe gangsters, all my friends will get a PS3 and some will get a Wii as well.

Its got the better selection of games, and if M$ gets one more thing under there belt we will be at the mercy of M$, which we basically are, until the GOOGLE OS comes out and i buy that shizzy :), PS3 4 life dont support M$ they have enough support w/o the lame 360, and there 30+ EA Titles haha.
The only one that "MIGHT" be good is gears, but its all hype right now, so we dnot really know. But all the rest are Rentals and i would never buy any of them. Definetly not at 50-60$

Not many people are willing to buy a differnt console then what they wanted when they walked into the store. Thats like me saying, well since ps3 is sold out, i'll buy a wii instead. I mean get serious. People will just wait. its only a month or 2 at a time, for the next line.
This is not NEWS* its Logical and has been assumed and discussed for months. If games did not follow the Playstation development guidelines they are not guarenteed to work.

Even after all the lame BS news, and the Lame Xbox Fanboys, etc... I'm still waiting to get ONLY* a PS3 and i know tons of people that are the same way, Even with all this bs going around PS3 will be the Console of CHoice! And thats all that really matters. CHumps!

basically, my plan is to begin doing some side project games, then e-distribute them off of a website. Build a bit of a community, and possibly continue up the ladder, until we hit PS3. And if it doesnt go that far because of lack of time, then so be it it'll still be enjoyable, and i'll get to use what i learned in school. :)
PS: We'll be using DX9 For the first games, which will only be 2D. Then move onto DX10.

The additional Dimension although adding Code, and space, is not what inevitably jumped the size of games. Its the Size of the Textures and the Amount of textures we can use at a single time. So I'll have to disagree with you. Also let it be duely noted that Mr. Carmacks latest little craze over his LARGE TERRAIN TEXTURE, takes a 10gig texture, which in game uses methods to make it feesible, but what this does is allow us to have at errain with ZERO tiling effects, and seemless terrain.
