@Alexious
Disagree maybe? I'm not sure what you said, it's a bit vague.
There's no speculation here. MS is clear that they're messing with consumer rights; Sony is clear that they're not.
If you meant that Sony still has a lot more in the tank? That's speculation. I honestly doubt they've got a massive collection of exclusives.
Still, PS4 came out ABSURDLY strong after day 1.
@demobot - ME3 to my recollection had perfectly fine 360 controller support. I don't know if there's worse support for non-MS controllers though.
There are no game "type" but there are games that fundamentally don't work on controllers because of control schemes designed to make use of the inherent advantage of keyboards, namely how many gosh darn buttons they have, or make use of the inherent advantage of mice, namely the fact that you get mouse control...
You've been awfully keen on pointing out that you're not saying PCs are not better, but if that's not what you're saying then why would you say it?
It's not as if an APU is better in some ways and worse in others. It is worse in essentially every way than anything other than onboard graphics.
So again. I have to assume you said this for a reason. If it's not to make baseless claims about the incredible potential of APU-based systems, w...
A while ago, you spent tons?
How long ago is a while? 6+ years?
A PC that could handle most games 6 months ago can handle most games now. 1 year? Same thing. 2? Same. 3? At this point maybe you're starting to really see a drop.
Because most of the money in developing has gone towards console development, with PC being a kickback at the last minute, much of the hardware that we have now on the very-high end of the spectrum is essentially u...
I have a lot of games I'm looking forward to that I would consider "PC games." This is just a list of 3 games that are expected to sell well that are coming out on PC by coincidence.
Piston was not SteamBox. Confirmed within like a week of the initial reveal. It is not and was not ever the "steambox." There were, I think, some initial talks between Steam and the guys behind Piston, but they ended up going their separate ways.
Oh, dear Lord no.
The reason that DS1 managed to get a sequel is that they treated it as something OTHER than a AAA title. They spent relatively little money, and therefor a moderate return on a miniscule investment means a huge profit margin.
Spending more money means that a much higher return is needed to break even. I'm not pleased to hear this--not as a hipster, since I'm glad they're taking it seriously and the more players are buying the gam...
Well what do you expect? When Pachter says anything worth saying he's wrong!
I'm going to try to be clear here, because it's a bit easy to misunderstand:
If we're going to claim that games are art on the level of film, literature, and music, then you're going to have to accept that sometimes it will be upsetting.
Sometimes you're going to get a game that is the equivalent of the Hurt Locker, and just because you don't agree with it, just because the subject matter is upsetting and hurts your feels spot, doesn...
@14Feb-R So you're more nervous about your brother learning about killing than about the human body, a subject he will indubitably learn about in the years to come if he's not already well aware of it?
Classy.
Nnnno, doing homework on time is not a cessation of stupidity. It's actually an action with a legitimate positive effect.
And I don't think I've ever met someone who rewarded their children for coming home clean from school. You get punished if you come home covered in mud, you don't get rewarded when you don't. It's assumed that you don't get covered in mud every day.
Not sure if trolling, or just didn't think that one through...
5 Reasons You Should Check Your Excitement:
- Look at SimCity and Spore and ask yourself if the exact same division of the exact same company is worthy of that kind of respect any more.
- 2-5
@ExgamerLegends: My favorite dev is Paradox Interactive tho. Only one game for consoles (Lead and Gold).
On the other hand, 2 of the top 5 games for me: Mount and Blade: Warband, and Crusader Kings; no other dev has more than one in the top 10 as far as I can think. Though, From Software might have another top 5 entry with Dark Souls 2. That would put them in a very strong position.
@Hellsvacancy - Diablo 3? Are we having this conversation?
Though, I'll admit. A lot of the PC exclusives fly completely over the heads of console gamers, since they aren't sold at Gamestop.
I'm going to go be a big goddamn baby and shit my pants playing Amnesia now, while you guys have fun with maybe two good horror games coming up for PS4. :|
Follow up: I don't mind disagrees. I say some pretty controversial shit sometimes. But at least follow-up comment, folks. I'd love to hear why--and this is important--OTHER than Shinji Mikami being attached, you think that the trailer is anything other than a bunch of horror tropes back to back.
1 - Was joking. Thought going overboard would imply that.
2 - I could easily make a list of games that should be brought back, but the problem is that most of the developers who made them are now shadows of their former selves.
- Bushido Blade was one of if not THE strongest fighting game for the PS1, and the strongest 3D fighter IMO ever. But Squaresoft (now SquareEnix) is a joke now. They make games bad. The reason they could make Bushido Blade was because ...
Phil Fish has gathered a certain notoriety after making numerous bridge-burning declarations via twitter, AFAIC. He's a jerk and his game is buggy as all hell in its new PC release so I can judge it negatively on its merits as well.
Now with that said, it works on my system, and it's not unenjoyable. Just broken for a lot of people.
I'm keeping my distance on The Evil Within until it comes out and we can judge for ourselves. The trailer looks like shit and I don't know why nobody is noticing. Literally nothing occurs in it that isn't cliched, and nothing occurs that indicates anything about gameplay.
Shots, in order:
- Record player, establishing diegetic music--slow classical, cribbing notes on the thousands of films and trailers that took the idea from 2001.
Yeah, but lack of a demo is actually a pretty fair COMPLAINT, if not a good REASON.
Yes and no.
Sony fanboys were wrong to claim it was a reasonable price. It was an ABSURD price, and Sony paid for that pretty dearly by underselling PS3s for years, even after the price lowered.
So I can't disagree that there's hypocrisy occurring, but I can't disagree with their current assessment either.
EDIT: Also, at launch PS3s could play PS2 games. It was only in the later models that this feature was removed, and similarly ...
