I believe the only reason why Zelda reached that kind of score is simply because of its all-time number one predecessor.
But if you'll try to play the game without any knowledge of the first zelda, the results might be different. Still on the top but not that high IMO.

I was really yearning for Batman: Asylum two years ago but it turns out, Uncharted 2 won (Asylum only receive studio of the year, best action game).
At that time, we don't have Skyrim, so I guess the odds for Batman: Arkham City this year might be slim. Still, its a wonderful game and I've bought it last month!

That's the thing. Playing legit on BF3 doesn't look so bad and it can get you thousands of points but sadly, some players want the "faster routine", one that makes them exploit all sort of bugs that ruins the game especially for newcomers.

Yep! This was recently confirmed first by GAF then by insiders who also found other proof leading credence to RSP. IMO, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 for PC was one of the worst in the franchise in terms of development / production.
Maybe some players thought its release should be near BF3's launch because the maps were old? (only a remake)
