By not buying it you'll save money and make the Destiny 2 community just a bit less salty. Win/Win
"Destiny was about as smooth as one could hope for"? No one at any university can even play the game! Do some research before you say how great a launch was when a large group of people on Day 3 still can not even get past the title screen.
I'd add Black Ops 4 there as well. $60 base game that also has a Season Pass, Fortnite-Style Item Shop, Battle Pass, and Lootboxes.
