I consider myself a huge Metal Gear fan, but I know that Platinum Games has only ever created amazing games.
I've no doubt this'll be another one, even if it doesn't play like a typical MGS game.
Wonders if this thing can do 1080p60...
No mention of that anywhere in the review.
Looks like a nice piece of hardware, but no way it'll replace my BMI Shuttle.
On another note, the review lists "non-PS3 HDMI connection" as a con, but you can't capture the PS3 through HDMI at all without first stripping the HDCP.
At virtually the same price point as Crunchyroll (5 cents more, even), I can't see how this would be more appealing to anyone, considering you can't choose what you want to watch, or when.
"NASA substitutes 147,000 metric tons of rocket fuel with children's swingset."
I'm pretty sure new systems come with a free 30-days of PS+.
A nice way to let people grab some free games, then giving them the opportunity to renew once their games expire.
With all that's available, you would never be able to finish everything within 30 days.
Platinum Games has yet to create a "shitty" game.
Bayonetta, Vanquished, they go back to Okami, God Hand, and Viewtiful Joe, even.
This game is in very good hands.
There's no better developers for the action genre.
Yeah, I'm way more pleased with my Kinect.

So, most of my favorite PSP games cannot be downloaded to my Vita. (DJMax Portable, Phantasy Star Portable, Kingdom Hearts)
And, since no method exists to copy the UMDs of said games to my Vita, the only other option (aside from buying another PSP, which I'm not gonna do) is to pirate the games.
^ Call me a tool all you want. I know I'm not entitled backwards compatibility here, but had they not removed those games from the PS Store right before the V...
If you compare the PS2's launch games to God of War 2, Shadow of the Colossus, or Final Fantasy XII, graphically, I'd say that's proof enough of how much things can change. All those games launched at least 5 years after the PS2.
Ummm, when can the Vita get Peace Walker HD...? Let's talk about that...
Don't we already know that's Chico? They even make mention of his sister, Amanda.
This story is coming awfully close to the original Metal Gears'. I've been hoping for a MG 1+2 HD remake forever. This and MGS5 could be it, in a way.
I was saying the same thing...
Especially since ClaDun is already on the PSP.
Couldn't agree more with this.
I've been saying for years that this needs to happen.
You can get a Platinum in MGS3 with 1 playthrough on the easiest difficulty.
Transfer that save to your PS3 for another one.
@Summons
I highly doubt that, even if this happens, they'd delay the console versions.
The original launch date will be met, with the Vita versions releasing a few months later.
And, if it does happen, they'll definitely include a code voucher with early PS3 versions to download the Vita version. All assuming a dev picks it up within a reasonable time.
@Divine
Right, Turok 2 was the first to utilize it, but Donkey Kong 64 was the first to actually require it.
Was included with the game for that reason.
Next is The Renaissance.
Make it happen, Rare.
Not sure how I forgot Donkey Kong 64.
Pretty sure that was the first N64 game to ever require the Expansion Pak, which is significant.
Rule of the Rare empire:
Battletoads
Donkey Kong Country 1-3
Killer Instinct
GoldenEye 007
Diddy Kong Racing
Banjo-Kazooie
Perfect Dark
Conker's Bad Fur Day
The Dark Ages:
Star Fox Adventures
Grabbed by the Ghoulies
Kameo: Elements of Power
Perfect Dark Zero
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
@Deadpool: The "Solid" in Metal Gear meant that the games were in 3D, I'm pretty sure.
Also, Raiden also held the codename "Snake" in MGS2, so in a way, Rising still involves a Snake.
