Fair dues to Ubi for doing something different with Far Cry - we asked for it, after all. I enjoyed this game but it did feel like there was something missing. And that this was DLC expanded into a full game.
Dee has to be one of the best video game characters and that's no mean feat consider all she is is a voice. Still not convinced on the ending but I can forgive this games sins for the good stuff it delivers.
Fair play to Campo Santo for putting some of the best writing and voice acting in this game that we've seen in a while. This is the kind of narrative approach that I want to see much more of in games as the medium 'grows up'. It's not without fault, but Firewatch is a must-play for anyone who likes a good story in their games.
Nobody buys hardware for hardware's sake: they buy it for great software. Virtual reality will live and die on the games, films and 'experiences' (sorry) that are made for each platform. Can avoid suffering the same fate as 3D? Not clear right now.
There's a lot to dislike about Just Cause 3 - the 'story', the dumb characters, the way it proposes that every problem can be solved by shooting someone in the face. Yet, while the game never quite nails its all-out, tongue-in-cheek revolutionary pantomime, it does present you with a sandbox filled with red barrel fuelled destruction that frequently brings a smile to your face.
If you like your games light on substance but heavy on quick and easy action, then th...
Even though i'd love to see it, can't imagine that The Last of Us 2 will get an airing. Has to be E3 2016 after Uncharted 4 has done the business.
Weird on Sony Santa Monica - is Bound really a game, or a tech demo red herring? Will it be a dancing Kratos? Because EVERYONE wants that...
This game has made me want to Fulton everything.
Kinda wish Fallout 4 wasn't out now. November and December are always really busy months and after putting 30 hours plus into Metal Gear, and I now have to find the same time and more to put into Fallout. Still, though, this game is so good that i am totally going to do it. Christmas is cancelled.
Really enjoyed this game. So much the antedote to the Call of Duty style gaming 'storytelling'. Keen to see a follow up with bigger case
I remember that Star Wars 1313 game that disappeared. Looked like Star Wars meets gears of war. Such a shame it went nowhere. http://youtu.be/J_1_Nvn7DPM
I loved God of War but coming back to it, feels very tired now. It needs a new direction. And a new lead character to make me want to come back to Olympus.
I liked the Capture and Hold mode much more than Walker Assault. It felt a bit dull after a while, but maybe that was because of the map. interested to see more, but not convinced this is a definite purchase yet.
Interesting that The Division was there. Maybe it will actually come out in somebody's lifetime.
I agree with Clown_Syndr0me. The twists were easy to spot for horror fans, but because the game was so good, it didn't matter so much. i just wish that more had been made of the mystery and the narrative hadn't have gone balls out crazy with monsters. It just felt a bit predictable on that score. I would be well up for a sequel with more focus on you unravelling the mystery to save the kids (but not a la Scooby Doo).
I can see why Rockstar hated it, but then they would, wouldn't they. I just wish the BBC had been bolder and tackled the censorship debate. The fact that these moral crusaders go after low hanging fruit like 'violent' games rather than thinking what actually causes violence in society - people. I did like Radcliffe's beard though.
Horror fans might find the tongue in cheek cheesiness robs the scares but it's still a fun,
Slasher-style story to enjoy, and a really fun game to play with a group of friends. You can decide which annoying teenager to kill first!
The Rapture bit just bugs me. Why drop that hint if you aren't going to follow through on it in any meaningful way? Plus, feels like they could have focused more on just the main two characters, like with When The Wind Blows. It felt like the story was about them, but i ended up not really caring what happened at the conclusion.
Morpheus is the first virtual reality gaming experience to really make me see the possibility of VR, but I just don't know whether I could ever see myself at home wearing the head set and floundering around, and not feel like a total idiot (or rather, more of an idiot than usual...)
I think if the Arkham Knight had been a better character the story would have had a lot more impact. The ending rather flattered the story. I still think Arkham City is - both narratively and in terms of design - a better game. Looking forward to seeing what Rocksteady does next, though. Top studio.
Makes sense from a consumer tech perspective but they are gonna piss off a lot of people if they leave the standard PS4 behind with new software.
