Exactly. Some people are trying to say it's not a downgrade because the new build has optimizations better skin tone and better shaders. The game was going to get those optimizations anyways, happens in practically every game during development.
The downgrade is going from 1080p to 900p, that is a big difference.

5 million isn't a system seller no matter what. 1 out of 5 isn't impressive when there's just around 20 million Gamecubes. What this shows is that this game couldn't save the Gamecube, and it won't be saving the Wii U.
He's lying, full hd is 1080p, it is clearly no longer running at 1080p you can see how much smaller the frames are. No matter how you spin it going from 1080p to 900p is a downgrade and a very noticeable one.

You see a lot less of the frame in 900p than in 1080p. All the optimizations you are seeing in the new version would have looked good in 1080p too.

They were going to do that anyways. Look how much information is lost when going from 1080p to 900p, that's the big issue here. In the second picture the 1080p version you can see most of their upper torso and the nice art on the right model's chestplate, all of that is missing from the new 900p version.

It's not Ubisoft's (or any other developer for that matter) fault that developing for the Wii U takes extra effort which many companies cannot afford to spend. Time is money and if Wii U owners aren't buying games then it's not worth it for companies to take a risk on the Wii U.
@BallsEye, why in that picture are they zooming in on the vein on his arm, the least detailed aspect of the models? I can for example easily see that the left model has more detail on the 6 bullets strapped to his chest, you can see the circles in the center of the bottom portion of the bullets.
You can also easily see more detail on his elbow band on the left model, you see more vertical lines.
Imagine how richer Rockstar would be if they had this game ready for the PS4 and Xbone launches.
