I have Fallout 3 GOTY and also only had it freeze on me about 6 times and that's across 4 characters with at least 300 hours across all play throughs .
Fallout:NV on the other hand is in fact an unplayable P.O.S. You might get a good 40 hours in before the game freezes (no joke) every 15 minutes, and not just regular freezes but freezes where you have to hard reset the system. And the freezes are just one of thousands of problems this game has.
