No way is MGS 4 in the 30 hour mark, heck it's not even in the 20 hour mark. I've beat it 5 times (Fantastic game btw) and it took me 4 hours without watching the cutscenes.
I don't get people obsession with multiplayer this gen. They seem to forget that not EVERY game needs multiplayer. Next thing you know people will demand multiplayer for action adventure, JRPG's, and WRPG's...oh wait.
Ooo Gizmondo, I give them a year. :)
The Wii sales itself. :)
Having the lowest price point don't mean you win the console war. Take a look at the previous generations, the Dreamcast and the Gamecube were the cheapest consoles on the market at the time and both sold the least. Of course reducing the price will attract more customers, but other factors have to be taken into consideration. For example, quality, games, and value. Hell if pricing was everything then the PS2 should still be selling loads of hardwares.
Sure the 360 is winning in...
You're lame, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has more contents than most full priced racing games and cost only $40. You say the gameplay hasn't change much, but you seem to forget that Gran Turismo is a RACING game, how can you alter the gameplay?
The Last Remnant is slated for fall 2008 and Star Ocean: The Lost Hope is slated for fall 2009.
You must be confused, when I said "you" I don't mean you, I meant Nintendo/Microsoft/Sony.
You said it yourself: "You or anyone can try and argue for them but some of you have yet to understand they don't need you to argue for them. Let the game systems and them do all that work."
Why are you trying to defend Microsoft?
The cost of the game should be proportional to the cost of development. I don't want to pay $60 for a game that cost $1 million dollars to develop.
Software sales don't make you the winner, hardware sales does. The fact that the PS3 has been outselling the 360 for basically this whole year despite the one year head start must have Microsoft really worried. They obviously can't win in Japan and now they've lost Europe, if they lose North America then it's game over for them from here on out.
Overlord isn't exactly a "good" game.
As a developer it is in their best interests to keep all versions the same. If one version is better than the other then it will hinder the sales of that version and developers definitely do not want that to happen.
None of the previous Metal Gear Solid games sold 1 million copies in Japan so this is not a surprise.
Foklore is underrated.
2nd Party are independent developers who only develop games for one platform either by contract or in their own free will. For example, Insomniac Games is a 2nd party since they are independent and only develop games for the PlayStation platform. Sucker Punch is also a 2nd party since they are binded by a contract to develop games solely for the PlayStation platform.
Tell that to the 130 million+ consumers that bought a PS2.
Win over Sony? Possible, but unlikely.
Win over Apple? Keep dreaming Micro.
Can't wait for Eternal Sonata. October is going to be a killer month.
We're talking about 2008, the games you've mentioned had no release date to begin with. Killzone 2 had no release date so how was it delayed? White Knight Chronicles also had no release date so how was it delayed? Eight Days got cancelled, but when was it slated for 2008? The answer was never. Fact is, the games that were slated for 2008 ARE coming out in 2008.
Wow, Ryan Payton had more impact on the game than I thought.
