Criticism lowers ones expectations for a game. And when you go into a game with those preconceived notions, it'll either mar the experience because the faults become noticeable, or you find yourself pleasantly surprised by how much you're enjoying it. I guess that also plays on your notion of the double-edged sword, albeit in a totally unrelated way.
What have you done?
Good on ya, 343.
I'd like to think that culture clash instances and translation issues like Abyss have cropped up less frequently since the game's release on the PS2. Development for Japanese games today probably have western audiences in mind a little more, at least to some extent, so the script is written with more universal appeal. I mean, these things will always be there, especially for those games that are very Japanese and localization wasn't on the table until after its release, but I thin...
Oh I'm sure it'll be solid game regardless. But my personal wish was for something in the east, like China or Japan, and that's taking all logic and reason and throwing it out the window. I'll look forward to this game, whilst simultaneously crossing my fingers for a spin-off to give me what I want.
More info that points to America. I was really hoping that wasn't going to be the case.
To the Moon
It'll be a great experience, sure, but you'd be doing yourself a disservice by going from the title with the strongest combat system to the rest which vary in quality and depth. I'd start with Kingdom Hearts 1 just so you can experience the gradual improvements over time until you hit that sweet spot in BBS.
It's running on the Unreal Engine. So according to your logic, all western games running on Unreal have stale graphics too. Nice one!
It's like Nintendo was sick of people saying "Well, it's obviously going to be Gray" so they did this instead.
On the lower right side of the page there's something in Japanese that has the word 3DS in it. What does it translate to in English?
I'm seeing DS and 3DS. Which is it?
Words cannot describe my hype for Fez!
I hate hearing about layoffs. Hope these guys can land on their feet and find employment soon.
Level-5 rockin' the dual-audio? Aw yeah!
Geez. I hope everyone is alright.
That's the release date for the game. The beta will take place sometime before that.
The MT Framework is a tricky engine to predict when it comes to technical performance on the PS3. It worked great for Devil May Cry 4, but not so much with Lost Planet 2. Since they've been putting out media from both consoles, here's hoping it's solid throughout.
Cautiously want.
There are many other games more deserving of the title "underrated gem" than Crysis 2.
