That depends on how one defines "turn into action." Any stealth game by definition must have the threat of things exploding into violence. But in most real stealth games, your character is woefully under-equipped to endure such chaos, and you're penalized for incurring it.
In Thief, for example: you technically CAN sword fight, but you suck at it. And Agent 47 CAN blast through a room but he has very little life and will drop pretty fast. As opposed to something...
Well the article DOES say at the bottom "if you love sandbox games then definitely get it."
I think that's an overstatement. The streamlined control scheme and more rapid access to powers alone has to count for a lot. They even went back and retro-fit it into the original when they re-released it on XBLA, and good thing too.
Even if all of that is true, the SP campaign is one of the most refined tactical shooters ever made. Show me another game that blends action and stealth that well. Every mission gives you a new toy to play with, they all work great, and there's a ton of gameplay variety.
Frankly, I don't see why every shooter has to be defined exclusively by its MP. Even if they include MP and it blows, when the SP is this awesome, it shouldn't matter. You have like a bajillion ot...
Wow, this is really handy, thanks guys.
Hahaha, dude I like you.
Completely agree.
I think it likely will. The lack of effort on this one suggests Capcom's focus is on RE6.
I'm not sure I agree. I think they maybe tried too much, in too many different directions. When you consider how the powers are better balanced in ME3 than they've ever been, and the skill trees have been made a happy medium between ME1's RPG hardcore and ME2's RPG lite, or how there's a lot fewer useless party members this time around (if any), I think a lot of effort is very evident. I think the problem is, they wanted MP as well as SP, and they just couldn't get it ...
I'm engineer, too. It's really pretty good, but yeah, you eat assists for breakfast, lunch and dinner if vanguards are around.
It's all good. I mean honestly the best thing to do is just ignore the CC screen and boot the character in ME3, like the article says. When I did that, my character in-game was much closer to my original than the CC screen.
But this was an ME2 Shep right, not an ME1+ME2? I've heard with the latter that nothing fixes it.
I'm so glad someone finally said this, and I agree. The MP is good but whatever, but the SP is really intense and fun.
Gotta agree. I hope they lay off Uncharted and Killzone for awhile, but there's no chance for Halo or COD.
DAMN that's a good point.
Yeah, totally agree. U3's multi is better than it has any business being, but it still needs to improve more.
I respect that point of view, although I don't agree with it. Longest Yard maybe should have been here.
Haha, I forgot about the zombie elephant. Good catch.
I sure as hell wish they would, instead of cranking out Goldeneye 007 Reloaded which no one wants. Zero's kinda meh though.
I hope this isn't true. The smartest thing Sony has done in a long time was change direction on DRM when they saw how much MS was struggling with it. You've got to be willing to admit you were wrong and adjust sometimes.
