I thought the exact same thing man, I could easily see EA buying exclusive rights to music so no other company could use them in video games. It's this type of strongarm tactics that harm consumer choice IMO.
I'm glad I actually have a choice as to which music game I buy, I don't particularly care about the drums or mic. Looks like EA's forced bundle made the choice easy for me :)
Guitar Hero III for the win..
The tough fighter chicks thing is getting sooo lame. I know it's just an excuse to check out tight clothes, but it is now officially old.
I've played the Wii, and honestly I simply don't get the fascination. I think it's great that the "console" is drawing more people into gaming, but I don't see how it can last. The only thing I can see for the Wii, is that it's the first video game machine that non-gamers would consider "socially acceptable" in their circles.
Stop rehashing the same FPS, try something new!
Usually IGN deducts 20% from the score if it has the PlayStation logo anywhere on the box. Perhaps Level 5 shipped it in a green tinted plastic case, and got one over on them.
PGR4 and Halo 3 aren't holiday exclusives. Mass Effect and Ace Combat 6 are the only ones that fit the criteria. Looks like it's gonna be a good holiday season for Sony.
Why is this even being debated? Who cares!!
This is Microsoft and Toshiba's way of doing business. When you cannot compete purely on consumer preference, bribe 'em. Why do you think HD-DUD is still in the format war?
Does being "Halo sick" also represent being sick of the overhype and media coverage of this damn game? I didn't really care about Halo 3 until 2 weeks ago, now I loathe it.
What's your source for the GHIII Guitar not playing GHI and GHII?
Nothing like a bit o' fallacious reasoning on a Monday.
Great games sell consoles, grow the user base. Sega wants the userbase to grow, but without developing the great games that push the console. Sega should have just said "We want everyone else to invest in software development for the PS3, that way we'll take less risk in developing."
Good games and features sell consumers on a console. I didn't buy an Elite just because of a price cut. If Microsoft wants to seal the deal, bundle online gaming with the Silver XBox Live membership.
Alright now I'm confused. How do you contrast between a 6.5 from PSM and a 9.6? Being a beta tester I agree more with this review, maybe not a 9.6 but an 8.6 would be reasonable.
I was on the beta test for Warhawk as well, and it was easily one of the most FUN games I'd played in a while. I guarantee if you spend some time scouring the net for other beta testers, you'll get the same "did you review the wrong game?" attitude.
Give it a 1, a 0, I don't care. I've played the game and I'll buy it.
By your math Toshiba must be giving away their HD-DVD players. Samsung's already offering Blu-Ray players for $425.
As much as the concept seems foreign to XBox fans, the PS3 is just as much a Blu-ray player as it is a game system. This type of list is just as valid as any games list.
I'm certain I am in the minority, but the only reason I haven't picked up a 360 yet is due to the failure rates. It's actually ironic, I was in Gamestop yesterday after psyching myeslf up to take the plunge, and there were 2 folks in line discussing the fact that they've had to replace their 360's 5 times. I left the store.
I hope M$ decides to make some changes, I'd rather not buy a product I'm scared to play.
Did I read "the best 8 to 10 hours of gaming" correctly? You aren't insinuating that Fable 2's storyline is this short are you? I'd expect it to be at least 3 times that.
