Most of the gaming media is anti Nintendo, we're used to it though. It's like Miiverse is the only happy place, it's all miserable on here.
Microsoft has money to blow, I wouldn't count them out especially when it comes to exclusives. They can snatch up Crytek, CD Projekt, EPIC Games, etc with one snap of the finger.
I personally think Nintendo will have the biggest portfolio of exclusive first party games and franchises. Don't count out Microsoft though, a lot of people are joking/ underestimating them saying all they're going to get are Kinect games.
Maybe they'll show it @ the next Nintendo Direct? With Bayonetta 2, Pokemon XY, Zelda Wind Waker remake, and X, you never know.
Team Galaxy is already working on the next 3D Mario game... Namco and HAL are working on Smash Bros 4... EAD is working on Mario Kart Wii U and Zelda HD... Intelligent is working on SMT X Fire Emblem... Monolith is working on Xeno... Good Feel Games is working on Yoshi's Yarn. Now we're down to Metroid, Star Fox, and New IP.
They're working on something big in there, can't wait for E3. Assuming it should be ready by then seeing how it was taken out last year's.

Also a while ago Retro hired some Naughty Dog, Vigil, and Doom developers to double the team so projects will come out faster. It's been 3 years since Country Returns so they might be working on 2 new Wii U exclusives.
The Retro Studios game might be Metroid Prime 4 or Star Fox... So really they have all their big guns ready. Plus that Yoshi's Land game by the Epic Yarn team and the Fire Emblem X Shin Megami game by Intelligent systems and Atlus. PLUS the surprises they'll have for the show as you said.
Really the lineup is unrivaled.
The analog sticks won't be good for first person shooters. Unless you want to swipe the back or use to the touch screen to run or throw a grenade. Plus they're a little too small for intense play in my opinion.
Personally I think Nintendo's upcoming E3 will be better than any lineup they previously showed. You have 3D Mario by the Galaxy team, Smash Bros 4 by Sakurai and Namco, Retro Studios, Zelda Wind Waker remake, X by Monolith, Mario Kart, and maybe some Bayonetta 2 depending if it's ready.
This will be the first E3 to have a 3D Mario, Zelda, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Pokemon, and Retro all in the same conference.

I think the Monolith game is XenoGears IV. Plus all the old guys who made Final Fantasy 7 and 8, XenoGears, etc are making it.
