You said it yourself, THEYRE THE LARGEST 3RD PARTY DEVELOPER! Lol besides ea i doubt any other dev come out with enough games per year to support a service like access. Ea is putting out 6+ games a year minimum.
It was a bad idea however it was a 24hr thing so you can play offline but only for 24hr without checking back in.
