Mario returning to his home in NY would be cool.
But if you are looking for a more grown up Mario game, in wich the story matters and they don't threat the gamers as stupid babies, and with a plot more ellaborated than the boring "rescue the friggin princess" play Super Mario RPG (by Square)
People will be caring the next 5 years for Halo 3, let's see if Uncharted can do that.
I don't think I had mediocre fun with Halo 3, I had complete, awesome fun and it's not stopping for years to come, the photo mode, the theatre, the multiplayer, the vehicles, omg, so many stupid fanboys here who didn't spent more than 2 minutes with it.

Maybe Gabe and the guys on Valve are very busy developing Half Life 3 for Xbox 360 and PC, because of that, porting The Orange Box for the crappy PS3 is a waste of everybody's time. They could develop it for the PS3, but it's not worth their time, so their left crappy EA to do it.
