As did several other N4G members... your point? Criticism is not equal to hating something. Anyway, I agree with the points that were made above. The show was lame and some of us stuck through the whole 3 hours hoping that some incredible game announcement would be shown.
Joel's joke's were at times cringeworthy, and maybe he was a bit on the douchebag side, but I think his attitude reflected the overall atmosphere of VGX: aloof and uninterested.

Sales wise, avoiding the WiiU may be an excellent strategy in the long run. Why develop a "hardcore" game such as Deus Ex for a console whose audience is comprised of mostly casual players?
Regardless of that, I can't wait for a true next gen Deus Ex. Human Revolution was awesome.
What most shooters these days are lacking is the feel that Socom captured back in the I and II days. I remember being around 8 or 9 when I first played Socom II and I can still recall the intensity of the games played... wish we could go back to those days. I have full faith that H-Hour will recapture that feeling.
How? Graphics wise, yeah PC's kick ass regarding THAT. Awesome graphics doesn't make them the end-all, be-all of gaming hardware though.
Yeah, no sh*t. What is with these articles nowadays? Of course PC will always have the upper hand in the graphics department... doesn't make them more superior than consoles though.
Regardless, I enjoy both series' and will definitely be picking up Killzone in a few months.
Like I said, to each their own. :)
And?
It's a linear FPS, of course the playthrough time isn't going to measure up to other games that offer more content within the campaign. CoD hasn't been story focused since the original Modern Warfare and Black Ops.
All that matters is people enjoying a game that is primarily focused on multiplayer but still offers a campaign for those who enjoy them.
To each their own.
Thanks!
I'd appreciate some clarification regarding the Steam Machine. Is it a console for ONLY PC gamers who want to stream their games to the TV via the console? Or is it a console where people who don't have PCs can buy it and run Steam games?
Maybe they should be a little more optimistic then and appreciate the additional changes they have made to make the game appeal to the fans instead of posting the same snarky comments. Criticize the game appropriately; talk about what you like and what you don't like instead of maintaining a "glass is half empty" mindset.
It's all relative and based on opinion. Some areas seem to have been improved upon and touched up and some new additions have been added.
The problem with Microsoft is that they really screwed up on their first impression, which was marketing the Xbox One as a social device first and a gaming console second. It seems like they are trying to make amends with the removal of the "always on" feature and discontinuing the need to have Kinect. Whether or not they are still focused on social media and motion control gimmicks instead of gaming remains to be seen.
Trying too hard.
Looks like a significant improvement over the past Infinity Ward games. Hopefully they can redeem CoD. Also, why do people not understand the concept of "if you don't like it, don't play it"? I don't comment on articles of games I don't like.
Maybe it's Ubisoft's fault due to the way they neglected the present day sections in favor of the historical sections, but I still don't see why people don't understand that Assassins Creed isn't about the historical stuff, it's about the end of the world. The whole reason for all of the historical segments was due to Desmond needing to learn how to become a master assassin to fight the modern day Templars and, in doing so, he had to relive the memories of people such ...
To Ken Levine and Irrational Games... at first, you had my curiosity... but now, you have my attention! This is hands down looking like a phenomenal game!
The words "misogyny" and "misogynist" get thrown around an awful lot lately.
It's funny, a couple of years ago I was thinking about the next generation of gaming and had a similar idea. I was thinking of making a virtual reality-based console which would come with "controllers" that could stimulate the 5 senses- one of them being contact lenses allowing you to see the game world.
As a user above stated, I also thought about how games built around this technology would be able to function as there are various problems, such as people runn...
I think the problem with annual releases is that many of those games stick to the same "comfort-zone" formula and don't offer significant innovation to separate themselves from previous installments. Not that sticking to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" adage is bad, but annual installments should improve upon the previous ones and offer something that's substantially better and not just a similar game with tweaked mechanics, a la Call of Duty.
