In the printed review, all three reviewers definitely slammed the controls most of all. They are entitled to their opinions, but at least have the integrity to be consistent as "journalists".
I can understand the reviewer's dislike of the fireballs not looking realistic enough, but complaining about Lair's graphics?!? That is definitely a new one. Controls aside, I don't think any other reviewing publication dissed the game's graphics. I've seen some of the gamepl...
I am a casual gamer who pays the same amount of money for hardware and software as do hardcore gamers. I have played both the Ninja Gaiden and Heavenly Sword demos. Graphically speaking, I think Ninja looks nicer. But gameplay? I enjoyed Heavenly Sword immensely more. I am one of those who have tried Gaiden for the Xbox and never really got past 50% of the game thanks to the jacked up difficulty levels. Heavenly Sword looks much more accesible to me and I applaud developers who keep cas...

This hands-on preview from Gamespot mentioned nothing about poor controls.
Despite the gameplay mechanics, how did EGM supposedly rate the graphics, story, length, sound, and overall experience? Although gameplay is the most important aspect of the game, and if it is broken, then the poor rating is deserved. But Lair is also supposed to ha...
timmyp53: where the hell does it say retailers like Best Buy and Circuit City have ALREADY lowered the PS3 price?
Don't post bullshit if you don't have proof.
Agreed. The only thing going for the game is that its pretty to look at when the game is frozen. Its another story when the game is in motion. Nowadays, when the public is so used to Call of Duty and MoH games that are so polished and proven after multiple iterations, I have to be amazed at the audacity of the devs who decided to join the party most likely just to cash in.
The demo was decidedly awful and should do the trick in preventing anyone from wasting their cash hop...
Don't get me wrong, I have been DYING for rumble in PS3, especially for my racing games. I am thrilled to learn about the Immersion settlement and Sony's efforts to put rumble back in.
I just think that by doing so now, they owe an explanation to the early adoptors who are now faced with the propect of paying for an extra controller they should have gotten in the first place.
Knowing Sony, they will just spin it and hope no one remembers their snide "rumble...
Wow, 30+ comments on this article and not a single person mentioned Blu-ray. I'm beginning to think the HD DVD folks who decided not to factor in the PS3 as a Blu-ray player may have been correct. They believed the majority of people who bought the PS3 were gamers who were not going to buy Blu-ray movies regularly.
I personally bought the PS3 as a Blu-ray player first, game player second as I knew that the good games (like Lair, Heavenly Sword, Gran Turismo etc) were not comi...
After everyones comments, I was expecting more action in the trailer. But this TV spot showed off the art direction and graphics just fine, hail Gears!
Judging from all the hype and gameplay videos I've seen, this game is undoubtedly the Halo of 2006. But unless the demo is fully ready to show off the greatness of this game, and by that I mean no technical hiccups, then releasing the demo may not be such a great idea, despite how much I want to play it. The only issue I saw with the gameplay videos were framerate ones that detracted a bit from the experience...just my two cents...
The way I see it, the HDMI standard was created for the sole purpose of copyright protection. With all its glitches and incompatibilty issues, I would sooner stick with analog component connections. If your equipment is high end, the built in scalers can produce great quality on par with HDMI connections.
It is a shame that the PS3 can only ouput video and audio via HDMI. I would have preferred video HDMI and separate analog PCM outputs for the audio. That way, my high-en...
