I'm not speaking for everyone, but when a video game costs $59.99 I wont my moneys worth and if there where no achievements I'm not going to have the incentive to play the game on a harder difficulty (ETC.) Now back in the day there where a few games where I would continue to play after I beat it, but this generation gives me the motivation to push myself as a player and to stretch out my $60 that I just spent, so yeah.
