oooof. no thx. the one x real one looks way better. this is too much and relies too heavily on a singular element while bypassing every other aspect of the design language... but what do i know, im just an art director for design.
If MS did this with the series x they could have claimed up to 14 TFLOPS. PS5s 10.1x TFLOPS isn’t persistent because of variable clocks, it’s a maxed out best case when the System load allows it. The XSX 12 TFLOPS is below what the system could technically output but it’s a sustained, persistent rate, unlike the PS5s variable that runs locked, under its threshold, coupled with some slick architecture to reduce underutilization/heat inefficiencies. The pS5 actually works more like an iPhone ...
dude. its not rocket science. Slower clock. less compute cycles = less performance. A computer can only update instructions every frequency cycle. Its not magic. 10 TFLOPS on the PS5 is best case scenario when everything is running on full. Yes its efficient. Yes its cool. That doesn't change the fact that variable clocks aren't some profound thing bringing new capabilities? No. Its merely for energy efficiency and a way for Sony to use less GPU spec and push it hard on occasion to hi...
It weird reading this stuff knowing that the series x does most of this stuff better... ms is getting double the compression rates, can use its ssd as a memory multiplier and has controller APIs down to the metal. Nothing in here is unique. Sorry. And that 10.15 teraflop spec is a best case scenario thx to those variable frequency clocks. Expect it’s average compute to be hovering in the 8.5 teraflops range. This is all just proof of the Sony superficial hype train. Just like when apple does ...
“ For example, while Microsoft opted to keep its console's clock rates fixed, Sony went with the bold choice of using variable frequencies for both CPU and GPU, a decision that made the PS5's 10.28 TFLOPs figure feel misleading according to our own colleagues from Hardware as it only refers to the 'best-case scenarios' when there is no downclocking involved.”
Ouch. Fixed clocks for the win. And also backs up my point for the millionth time that the only adva...
I’ll eventually get both but I’m getting the series X first. Sony showed some great games but the best ones aren’t launch games and a bunch of the rest were multi platform or timed exclusives - of which will probably perform better on series X cuz of the stronger gpu and faster clock. Plus the Series X will play all of my current games with increased resolutions, frame rates and loading times as well. Taking all of this into consideration and the fact that all the launch exclusives and some t...
vr... meh. i've yet to see a vr system seller. and i work on vr content and own a ps4 pro that could run psvr... in fact i could have just bought my buddy's psvr headset cuz he just sold it for a lack of use.
i think vr is good for a handful of things... like race simulators, flight simulators and maybe other similar POV things. For most other things it feels like random experiences shoehorned into a vr context with lots of compromises. Very few titles actually achi...
i really don't have any opinion of this game good or bad, but i do wonder why it receives so much hate. it looks no better or worse than loads of recent titles... maybe im missing something.
funny cuz gun play and driving aren't even supposed to be huge parts of the game. its more about being clever nd having lots of ways to solve a situation. clickbait article... unless the guy is just impossible to be around in life in general.. "i dont like the way my coffee mug is cylindrical". "I dont llike how my croissant is curved". "I dont like that my car isn't also a boat".
uhhh... pretty much every real publication said the exact opposite. at worst there was a bit of polish it needed (makes sense) but pretty glowing reception otherwise. clickbait.
pretty cool. That should come in nice and cheap. I just hope that it still features ray tracing, 3d audio etc since thats all hardware driven - which if the target is 1080p/30 is realistic. Will be good for the gamer on a budget. Just like with the ps5, having a choice is great.
some ps4 users feel insecure and defensive when they write things like this. Its not like theres this big group of people with a unified voice to take down a playstation game. The fact is it has some things that are controversial to some people (who refuse to accept that its not 1950s america).
Rather than write some suspicious, paranoid article claiming victory from an imaginary war, take solace in knowing the game has near perfect review scores and has already sold over 4...
there i disagree. in reality if the ps5 had to load a full 16gb of ram, it would do it slightly faster than the Series X, in real world maybe .5 secs... maybe a full second in a worst case scenario. Beyond the initial load tho, both systems will only need to sip off a 1-3gb of data from the SSD here and there as the game plays, so at this point, both SSDs would be indistinguishable b/c that load is so small compared to their overall speeds - hence "virtiually no loads.

if this game launches with the Series X, it will be my first purchase (well and Forza 8)
