When a developer ties progression to loot boxes it's not decent, it's a system designed to screw you over.
I play the dark zone for division tech which you don't have to extract, that's it. The rest of the gear you get just as easily in pve.

@everybody I love how the PC and PS4 fanboys are both in here downplaying the fact the Xbox X is performing well. It may not be selling a ton but the fact is that it's performance has been awesome for a console.

I love those kinda games, without the micro transaction of course. Crappy dungeon shooter gear grind I mean.
And that's the problem, D1 was a grind fest but I Fu@#ing loved it because when a fatebringer or a gally finally dropped it was all worth it. Nothing about this game or dlc is worth it.
They have not confirmed it yet.
We would have to have clear and defined post release content maps for that to work. I could me paying 100 bucks only to get a few story missions and some skins.

That's the stupidest notion that floating around. I need to see full blown evidence that this is true not some forum speculation. With that said no the do not need these loot boxes in games, they are still profitable enough but everybody involved is getting greedy.
