You know why exclusives are possible on consoles and not PCs? Because the console dev gives a call to game dev and says "OH PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make your next game an exclusive for our product so our sales could go up! We will pay you one gajilion moneys!". On PC since there is no middle man the game Dev's profits are purely from sales. So piracy or not, having your game on three platforms in the end will make you more money than it would on one.
Consoles are pretty much PCs stuffed with proprietary hardware and a custom OS. And now they want to add customizable hardware, making OS the only thing that separates consoles from PCs.
When you think about it, why DO we have consoles as a mainstream gaming? Right now you can get a decent gaming computer for ~$600-~$700 and you can get it attached to your TV(or 3 TVs) as easy as it is setting up a console. You get same games, many more features(and don't have to beg the...

You're forgetting that PS3 in devmode can run any unsigned code. people can modify the game to remove firmware requirements, or just lower them and be able to play any future games on 3.41. That's how it's done on PSP. Last custom firmware version as far as i remember is 5.50.

No way. Android is good OS and all but i just don't see PSP running it. It would be too easy to pirate/play games on other android based devices through emulation. They'd probably go with something to similar to XMB. Maybe overhauled version of PSP1 XMB.
Also, phone and PSP just don't go together. iPhone is perfect example of what happens when you combine gaming and phone. Half assed phone, with shitty casual games. Dualbooting between XMB and android would be pretty swee...

Bluray can fit up to 50 gigs, but no way the games are that big. Even though the processor on PS3 is very powerful, it would take long time to load that much data from blueray. PS3 games are around 10 gigs like on 360/PC.
