Yeah the 2D Rayman games were hard to say the least, especially towards the end. While the 3D Rayman titles weren't bad, they just didn't feel like the same game to me. Perhaps my personal reasons for disliking the 3D sequels fell down to a strong nostalgia for the 2D originals. Also, while the 3D games were not particularly ugly in any respect, they, to me, look a lot more aged in contrast to the 2D style artwork they used in the original.

Perhaps I'm not playing the right games. My point is while I played and enjoyed games like Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princes, I didn't have the same enjoyment/excitement that I had when I was younger.
On the other hand, it could well be a bit of fatigue!
