There is a point to the lives system in Mario. When u have one life left there's more adrenaline rush trying to make it through without dying.

Screw that disgusting party chat crap. Bunch of obsessive gremlins trying to team up. Losers.

Good. For a lot of people gaming is a secondary part of life. A bonus to life rather than a "need". Nintendo games cater to people like that.

That news isnt showing up on n4g though, why am I not surprised.

I see...

How do you get 400 hours into a game when it was released 21 days ago? You would have to play it 19 hours every day and do nothing else. Sounds like an obsessive/neurotic lifestyle or just a straight up lie.

They're actually the same people

Sad

Another example is Nathan Drake mowing down dozens of poorly paid goons every chapter then making a smart ass comment at the end. "Damn I think I broke a sweat. Better cut down on the the quesadillas hehe". You just killed dozens of poor misguided goons with families and kids at home.

Some games with ultra realistic graphics....the people drawing them are not really artists... more like engineers drawing diagrams of a person's face or other things from real life. Some of these diagrams look great and impressive. Doesn't mean there was any creativity involved.

I also think graphics matter but not at cost of gameplay.

Too much emphasis on realism imo. Realistic graphics usually encourages realistic character controls and physics. Many games end up not only looking but feeling the same as each other. No offense to horizon which seems to have fun gameplay regardless.

I don't think far-gone is the right term..makes it sound like there's no hope. I think they just haven't matured to the point where they become more self aware.

Sony is a shady company controlled by the Yakuza

@PaulKersey

Tell that to the idiots who buy every major release but don't even play them. Nice backlog, good luck getting around to it.

I made that mistake, for example buying Killzone 3...60 bucks down the drain. I think my dog already ate the disc.

Glass half full person: Get a Switch, and hope for the mind-blowing experiences Nintendo has delivered in the past. Maybe get what you seek or maybe get disappointed.

Glass half empty person: Get a PS4, and own 50 games you'll never play. You'll get around to that 'backlog' eventually I'm sure.

I bet if they re-skinned Splatoon with a Mario skin before launch, some people (on this site) would call that a rehash too, despite being fundamentally a new game. Shows how shallow people are after gulping the Kool-Aid. If all it takes is a new "skin" and a new title to convince someone that something is fresh and new, then that person isn't too bright. The "Soulsborne" series has 5 games which are so similar to each other, yet it's considered 3 different IP'...

There are plenty of 10 year old or older games which would still be good today. MGS on ps1 still would be good today. Because it is fun to play. Good controls are a big part of the reason why games hold up over time, which Uncharted simply doesn't have. The rocket launcher was fun to use though.
