It will have to take a galactic surge by Sony and Microsoft if they want to win this one.
Even if the Wii sales would decrease by half of what its doing now, it would still be a lot ground to make up for.
People need to realize that Wii software sales are steadily growing.
Kind of like PS2 software sales starting growing as the user base had grown.
Also people need to realize that the PS2 user base had a large percentage of these so called "casual gamers".
It's those type of people that probably will not get a PS3/Xbox360 and will by default be interested in getting the Wii.
Actually the Wii has selling more software this holiday season than the other consoles. Sure they are more Wiis owned, but a good sign for Nintendo.
I think there are some people on here that's just a tad bitter about all of the success of Nintendo and the Wii.
They would have never guesses that the Wii would be doing so well at this point.
I say let it go, it's just a video game console.
Nobody buys Wii games.
I think that claim is being debunked now that some 3rd parties are actually making profit and more importantly starting to make better games.
I would like to see it.
Besides, It's not like it made any difference in sales though.
In the end, it's all about the sales.
Now the laughing has stopped and the hate continues.
Funny how perceptions change over time.
August '06 - "It will never compete in sales"
Feb '07 - "It's a fad, it wont last"
August '07 - "It has no games, it's still a fad."
Dec '07 - "I hate Nintendo, may they die."
March '08 - "I still cant believe it's still selling so well, oh fiddlesticks."
Wii games
Give credit where credit is due.
You are saying The Wii is selling because of Brawl and Brawl isn't even out yet.
You mean to tell us all these casual gamers are buying the Wii are getting for a game that has not been released?
Almost everything you posted on this thread has been speculative at best, and downright falsehoods at worst.
You should quit while your ahead.
And it ain't all casuals...Regardless, give credit where credit is due.
*sarcasm off*
The Wii is whats selling the Wii.
When will you people get it?
"The wii wont last much longer."
OK,"the outspoken", when exactly will the Wii fade? You appear to know the answer. Did you know it was going to sell this well, and then eventually fade in 2008 after "Bral" i mean Brawl is released?
You people hope that it will fade....
You people hope the PS3 or 360 wins....
You people are hopi...
The Wii is selling well across the board.
It's not just selling to casual gamers.
At some point you will have to concede that the Wii is pulling away from the pack.
When will that be? I don't know, but eventually every other person you know will have one and it will be obvious and clear who will eventually win this generation.
It pretty much dominating this holiday season so far.
Thats crazy.
Thanks for saying what all people with common sense are thinking.
not really giving the Wii to much credit.
"It's gimmicky, it's not for the hardcore, its a Gamecube 2.0."
What's also hilarious is they think the rest of world is dumb for even buying it.
They act as though that the Wii is bad for gaming, but when you look at all of the news articles and stories, all they talk about is the Wii.
All of this hardcore and casual stuff is overrated.
I remember a time back in the day, playing megaman 2, there wasn't any talk about hard...
I guess the fan boys were wrong again.
Oh, I see... Nintendo was holding back units for some reason.
the Wii has double the sales of the PS3.
.....
The publishers are going to start lining to make games for the Wii, if they haven't already.
If they create really good games, they will sell on the Wii,
Especially you consider the sheer number of prospective buyers that own a Wii.
I think in time, you'll see a whole new generation of Wii games.
Along with games that are considered "shovelware", just like the PS2.
Games for everything, everybody.
In the end, Numbers ...
