It still had great sales on the platforms it launched on for PC. This is a lie. It did however underperform, the reason is that again as many here have said a lot of people who own a console and a pc just bought it on console and wont buy it again.
I mean its got nothing to do with the fact that the game was just EXTREMELY FUCKING AWFUL to play, right?
In your opinion.
And this matters because...? I will never understand this obsession with 'omg the pretty shiny'. If the graphics don't hurt the eyes and the gameplay is good, why does it matter that X blade of grass wasn't rendered in super HD 4k resolution.
Not surprised. It really wasn't fun to play at all. Controls were janky and movement was just...off. It's hard to say what was wrong with motion, only that it was very uncomfortable.
Fast paced movement games I really enjoy too, such as warframe.
The game just doesn't have much meat to it. It's an arena shooter with bland characters and nothing else to redeem it.
The word is anthromorphic..
If only there was some sort of...system for saving data in smaller amounts. Like some sort of...file compression?
Joking aside: Old games, even with all the cinematics and gameplay and everything were condensed down because we only had floppy disks to put them on. Developers HAD to make the code neat, tidy, and efficient.
Now they are lazy.
..and Paladins was in development AND testing before Overwatch.
Often its a simple case of the developers refusing to hire a professional or experienced writer. Those that do, have superb and excellent lore. Case in point: Eve Online, Endless Legend, The Division, etc. There are many more mentioned below, where games do not spoonfeed lore to you and have a world full of experiences to find.
The problem is (And i am speaking as a professional writer, i have worked as a paid writer on a indie development team) that often you are expected...
Alternate title: Hi-Rez Studio's prepares to abandon smite and focus on its new pretty.
Word of warning: Hi-Rez have a record for abandoning titles. Both Global Agenda and Tribes Ascend have been left to rot by the studio.
play it yourself.
Pretty epic fun with friends and dice rolls. It also features player made campaign submissions.
As to it not panning out, so far it seems hugely, hugely popular and very succesful.
Most disappointing Star Wars game of the era. Far too many people blinded by hype and pretty screenshots and video.
1) No space battle
2) Less player cap than Battlefront 2 (!)
3) Less playable vehicles
3) On-rails vehicles
4) Automated Snow-Flyer vs AT-AT take down system instead of manual flight.
5) No customization
etc, etc.
Wary of anything that uses google images on its 'official' pictures.
Very old news.
Ripley has been in the game for MONTHS. The game has been on early access for months.
Because that went -really- well for Gearbox when it split development between two-three studios on Colonial Marines.
Absolutely have to agree. Sadly, zombies have been turned into a joke these days.
Its rare to get a game or movie with them that isn't: I have lots of ammo and people only die from infection.
Instead of: Oh hey, no ammunition, melee weaponry and potential death from being torn apart limb by limb.
Too much anti-gore really. Got to miss the old resident evil series, old horror movies and the likes :(
A truly epic game
