Gears 2 did have a great campaign ill give you that but the big selling point of gears 2 was its multiplayer. And in that aspect, it was inferior to the first's. The game was completely unplayable because of the matchmaking for people outside of the US. The reason so many people played gears of war 1 was because it was one of the only games which let you pick the match you wanted to play and you could judge it on latency.

I think in the end, most games which get high scores are severely overhyped.
Halo 2 and 3, fun for a bit but in the end, do they really deserve such high scores?
Gears of war 1 Id say lived up to the hype. Good campaign, great multiplayer.
Gears of war 2 however did not.
Other games i can think of which were way overhyped: halflife 2, resistance 1 and 2 and most definitely the 2 fable games.

Wow when was the last time nintendo brought out something new and surprising. Theyve been living off metroid, zelda and mario for too long now. It really wouldnt kill them to go out of their comfort zone just a little.
I really hope they dont do blue dragon 2. The characters killed it for me. Lost odyssey was the best jrpg on xbox though just ahead of tales of vesperia.
agreed. I would have fable in the list but at about 10. The ending was a slap in the face.
