I feared this might prevail sooner or later because the fighting mechanics look boring as hell,apart from that everything else looks top notch.

The reason this game has that special edge over your common FPS shooters like(Call Of Dudy 4 which happens to look good)is because it plays like a movie with kick @ss effects.No need for that crispy shiny look you folks define as better graphics(Unreal Tournament)which only help make the games more cartoon-ish in my opinion.
